What is Hypnosis?
"Hypnosis is a state of intensified attention and receptiveness to an idea or set of idea's" Milton Erickson
What does Hypnosis mean to you? For many people it’s the image of the stage hypnotist, persuading the subject to carry out acts against their will!!!!! In truth real hypnosis is far removed from that used for entertainment, a hypnotherapist does not hypnotize the individual. Rather, the therapist acts as coach or tutor, whose job is to assist the client in reaching a comfortable, relaxed, sleep-like trance state.
Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation within the physical body with a heightened awareness within the mind. This occurs naturally in everyday life and is very similar to the trance-like feeling you have when daydreaming. As you enter the hypnotic state you become less aware of your surroundings and more able to be aware of your inner feelings – more able to make powerful internal changes.
The experience of hypnosis can vary dramatically from one person to another. Some clients report feeling a sense of detachment or extreme relaxation during the hypnosis, others may remain fully aware and able to carry out conversations while under hypnosis.
Within this calm relaxed state you can communicate with your unconscious mind, as it is more receptive to suggestions and this is how you can effectively break unwanted habits by giving you new choices of behaviour. You are in total control at all times.
A combination of Hypnosis and NLP is a powerful way to releasing unwanted behaviours and phobia's, each client is individual therefore I specialise in bespoke treatments to meet the needs of each of my clients.
